Hello, my name is Megan. I am a very positive person, and I try to bring this into my therapy sessions. I believe every person has strengths and I love to help individuals recognize and utilize these strengths. I am empathetic, attentive, open-minded and genuine. I see each person as an individual with their own unique experiences. I feel this helps me to be more flexible/adaptable to meet the needs of each of my clients. I hold strong values in self-determination and autonomy. I also believe in the power of resilience and utilizing this to push through hard times. I believe that each and every person has the power to change but understand that they may not have the tools or knowledge to do so.
In my life, I play the roles of mother, partner, friend, caregiver, and therapist. I graduated from Towson University in 2021 with a degree in Family Studies. I then attended the University of Maryland School of Social Work to obtain my Masters in Social Work. Witnessing an individual find their peace and love for life again, even if it is just in glimpses, is the best part of this work. I love looking back on the progress that has been made and seeing clients become proud and confident in their own abilities. I look forward to meeting you and becoming a genuine source of support.
